By 1998, Radio Free Asia had launched a Uyghur Service where Abbas became the first Uyghur reporter broadcasting on Xinjiang. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Free_Asia

In 2017, Abbas founded Campaign for Uyghurs. The non-profit is based in Washington, DC, and is used to organize internationally for the rights of Uyghur people. The primary focus of the organization are the ongoing crimes against humanity in China.

Multiple Congress people in DC are also listed: Tom Suozzi of New York and Chris Smith of New Jersey, Marco Rubio. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rushan_Abbas#Campaign_for_Uyghurs

What's Marco Rubio up to at the moment?
