For, you know, things that don't justify a whole thread....

Eg. I went for a run tonight, using a 180bpm playlist, based on a thread that I read here the other day. Felt way better during and after.

That would be a great idea. I'd love to see this place getting more active and chatty.

Responding to your eg. Did you change your cadence to match? Did you run faster? I've done some things like this before with various results so I'm curious about your experience.

I upped my cadence, and also tried to lean forward a little more as I've realised I'm really thudding down each step.

That's awesome that you felt better. It sounds like it was a good move for you.

Coincidentally I tried a 180 BPM playlist yesterday and it didn't go so great. It was a general purpose run, and I only kept up with the beat for a few minutes before deciding it was feeling way harder than usual. My average cadence ended up at 173, so not that far off, but I'll probably stick to running by feel and heart rate for now.

I first tried upping cadence using 90 or 180 BPM music, but I could never get it to stick and my feet didn't catch the rhythm. A few years later I used a metronome and boy howdy did that work for sticking to the rhythm. I nailed my cadence for a couple of weeks until I started getting hip flexor pain. Recently I saw some research about how cadence isn't as important as people think lol. Now I'm back to feel and HR too.

On the NZ instance we have a daily korero, which is a daily chat. We can talk about anything. Why not something like that?
