The photo is kind of funny—it looks like they grew a gigantic tooth rather than just an adult one.

Holy shit! Why’d they make it so big!?

Yeah, they’ll need to dial it back a few notches before it’s practical. Although that one might fit my big-mouth cousin Bertha’s trap.

Corresponding author of the paper Dr Ana Angelova Volponi, King’s College London, said: “As the field progresses, the integration of such innovative techniques holds the potential to revolutionise dental care, offering sustainable and effective solutions for tooth repair and regeneration.

Growing a tooth is one thing, I wonder how hard integrating it into a mouth will be. These teeth need to integrate with nerves and blood vessels.

The article said placing the cells in the mouth then prompting growth was a possibility. I'm not a dentist or MD but I would think this is the most sensible option? Would love to hear from professionals, itt.

Seems extremely difficult task to connect everything, so they should start just connecting the blood vessels and not connect the nerves at first (or maybe do something else entirely ... i see this is London, U.K., ... well, they probably have some issues in health care and prevention ... i do not know much).

This is the kind of stuff public funding for science should be directed to, with he stipulation of it being available at or near cost to the public, once viable.

Hmm…how can we use teeth in dentistry 🤔

Are they going to be growing the cartoonishly large person that the tooth will fit in as well?

I look forward to this becoming an option 30 years from now and for the price of a couple months salary.
