I think the US really deserves it. But what you suggest would just lower the standards of Europe to that of the US. And that's not something we should do because then we wouldn't really be any better.
Depends. If these US officials were responsible for US border policy or had significant political influence and would support current immigration policy, that would be 100% appropriate thing to do.
