Ah yes, because nothing inspires confidence like hiding from reviewers.

People are still dumb enough to pay scalpers for it.

[–] filister@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago

Unfortunately people are way dumber than you think.

They're not even trying to hide that it's dogshit at this point.

Same with 5060Ti 8Gb. We have an extreme greediness and planned obsolescence in full force on display here.

[–] zurohki@aussie.zone 11 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

8GB GPUs still have a place, and that place is the $100 price tier.

[–] filister@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

True, they should be 5050 or lower class, what NVIDIA did the last couple of years was to upgrade the class of every card 5050 -> 5060, 5060 -> 5070 etc. and as a result that increased the rift between 90 and 80 tiers of cards and make the generational performance increase lukewarm at best.

Oh, so it's that bad, huh?

[–] Kazumara@discuss.tchncs.de 18 points 3 weeks ago

Wow Nvidia, it's really that bad? You didn't have to shout it from the rooftops with your actions like that!

Even if someone insisted on using nvidia cards, why wouldnt they just buy a high end 30 series card or mid range 40 series card?

[–] Cort@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I'm assuming the type of person who would insist on Nvidia is also the type of person that would insist on new hardware

Game Changer

Well this certainly is a change, lol

lol that’s pretty hilarious tbh

Really doing your best to push me away from your hardware, aren’t you, NVDA?

Do all reviews using nouveau driver

Stop buying Nvidia products. You don't need the top of the line video card.

[–] arin@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

5060 is bottom barrel .... Not top

[–] chunkystyles@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

There are other options at that price point that aren't Nvidia.

There aren't other comparable options to say the 5090, which no one needs.

That was my point. I was speaking generally, not about the 5060.
