Can you imagine getting the fuck out of the US and becoming the pope? Amazing, two free root beers a day for life!

But now suddenly that annoying chud family member you avoid at family functions is on every TV channel and has the US government sending him over to annoy you every weekend because they think it'll somehow allow them to extract political favors from you.

I just watched that sketch! They've been doing an amazing job of timing their sketches with headlines lol.

That sketch originally aired in 2010

WKUK made a sketch about a sketch about the Pope dying in 2010 and then the Pope dies in 2025. That's why the CIA killed Trevor Moore. He knew too much. illuminati

They've been rereleasing old sketches in their YouTube channel in higher definition. I think that's why it popped up in my feed recently.

Very relatable as a Catholic to have a brother who is a total chud. Pope bringing “success son” vs “failson” dynamics into the vatican.

The Pope's brother traveled with JD Vance and other administration members to the Vatican this past weekend. It seems like Trump is trying to use the brother to influence the Pope.

May 18, Louis Prevost and JD Vance at the Inaugural Mass at the Vatican, Marco Rubio in the back

Private meeting with the US administration and Pope. JD Vance is on the left of Pope Leo. Brother Louis is on the right of Pope Leo. Marco Rubio is to the left of JD's wife Usha.

It seems like Trump is trying to use the brother to influence the Pope.

But like... influencing the pope to do what? Beatifying Trump?

They'll get around to it in a few centuries. They just realized the Earth goes around the Sun a few decades ago

Why bother? Aren't most American Protestants anyway?

[–] Sinisterium@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

23% is catholic and a lot of tradcath converts are hardcore pro-trumpers.

[–] boiledfrog@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Damn that's a lot, I didn't know that

[–] Sinisterium@hexbear.net 1 points 1 month ago

Its amongst the highest of the "traditionally protestant countries" (see Germany: around historically 60% prot & 40% catholic; and Netherlands: 60% protestant & 40% catholic, Switzerland:57% prot 41% catholic and the UK: 90% prot & 9% catholic)

it's too bad it's not like a medieval family ward / hostage scenario. like the king keeps your brother at court so you won't foment rebellion or invade.

because if you act to displease the king, he has you nailed, tortured, or killed.
