Yes, this is genuinely uplifting news.

Okay, he's 87 so they may not have much longer with him. But that time can be precious, even if it's just enough to say, "I'm sorry for fighting, I love you."

And yes, a reason this is newsworthy is because so many times CPR is not enough to save a person or keep up the blood flow until they can be resuscitated.

But the low success rate isn't a reason not to try. It's only a reason to be kind to yourself if you try and it fails.

Even a grieving family can appreciate someone caring enough about their loved one to make the effort.
