The Democrats’ 2028 podcast primary is well underway.

From Govs. Gavin Newsom of California, Andy Beshear of Kentucky and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan to former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, potential presidential contenders are following the lead of President Donald Trump, who frequently went on podcasts appealing to younger men during his 2024 campaign.

Liberal strategists acknowledge Trump showed that Democratic candidates need to master the podcast space, which is typically looser and more freewheeling than a press conference or a traditional media interview.

“Imagine that, Gavin, a gorilla on DMT versus 100 men. And bananas are slightly radioactive because of potassium. Man, radioactive gorilla on DMT. How many bananas does a gorilla eat in a day? Jamie, pull that up.”

I'll admit, I'm not overly familiar with Beshear, but he seems to be the only one who isn't working to normalize these fascists on some level, and for that, I'm willing to read more about him. (But I am skeptical that any Democratic party insider is going to do what needs to be done to break us out of this loop, and that is true economic populism.)

I'm not thrilled with any of them but Beshear I'd at least hate myself less for voting for.

I keep hoping Democrats will come to their senses and stop ignoring AOC and how her rallies are filling football stadiums in red states, but at the end of the day, they don't care about winning. They care about enriching themselves no matter who wins.

Sadly the DNC see her as opposition to their grand plan to court "centrists" and not a path forward.

Narrator: they did not come to their senses

Maybe AOC and Bernie should really make their own party, at some point it makes no sense to continue to try to work with democrats if all they do is sabotage them.
