There's no analysis of how this keeps happening to their party. People run as progressives [citation needed] and then do the same thing every single dem does once they get elected, and there's never any vetting ahead of time. It's always in hindsight that they put the pieces together, but the conclusion is always that they're a secret Republican. Couldn't possibly be that the two parties agree on everything that matters.

Can't wait for the next one they try to push!

there's never any vetting ahead of time.

I've always assumed many dem key players knew full-well before his election what his actual politics were. And they knew that he was pretending to be "progressive" which is effectively a nearly meaningless word anyway.

always gotta remember the alternative was "Dr" Oz.

doomer shit would he have been less bad?

would he have been less bad?

For non-republicans psychologically? I think the answer is yes. Everybody would have expected him to be absolute total garbage. Nobody would use the word "disappointing".

In actuality? I think he would have been worse. But maybe not by that much.

I do think it's better for Fetterman to have won, anything that leads us closer to more and more libs distrusting the Dems and leads us closer to Dems inevitably not winning another election again is good. After Gaza, they deserve to completely collapse as a party.

Granted, they deserved it over a hundred years ago but it's now ridiculously overdue and well-deserved.

This is the real argument for voting for Democrats.

Real accelerationists voted for Biden in 2024.

Oh sure. He was probably meant to be a sheepdog that turned manchin. They didn't plan on the stroke

To anyone genuine: "no you need to fake the progressive politics and forget about it after you win!!"

Then they end up with a bunch of careerist ghouls and wonder why they're so dysfunctional

Can't wait for him to emerge from another 12 hour snuff film bender muttering about how terrorists deserve to die

It's not a lack of vetting. The man is suffering from a mentally illness most likely as a result of a stroke.

His career prior to that was pretty respectable.

He performed gay marriages when they were outlawed by the state. He converted vacant lots in his dying town into parks, he built a 2 acre urban farm, he hustled his ass off to secure grant funding for community projects. He was arrested while peacefully protesting the closure of a hospital in his city.

As Liutennant Governor he openly supported Marijuana Legalization and the LGBTQ+ community. He recommended 50 life sentence commutations and secured 47 of them.

None of that is to say he's a swell guy. He also had some major blunders along the way.

But acting like he spent 15 years as an undercover fascist and everyone just looked the other way isn't accurate either.

Uhh his career before this was not in any way good. Unless you think it's cool to pull a shotgun on minorities and stalk them in your neighborhood for starters..

Liberals will seal clap the most mundane shot and think it's "progressive".

Fuck .ee. you guys can't be gone fast enough

The guy you're talking about is Chris Miyares who said of Fetterman in 2021 that had done "more good than on bad act".

But more importantly you're overlooking that that is not a policy position. It's a character flaw.

I'm not a big fan of the superhero/Rambo attitude for exactly this reason. It's dangerous and it's delusional and far more likely to get people hurt then help anyone.

But that doesn't change his policies.
