According to the newspaper Kommersant, Corporal Madina Kabaloyeva received an official recommendation from her military unit’s medical company that she be temporarily exempted from military service due to the fact that she was pregnant and had a young child. However, this wasn’t sufficient to shield her from criminal charges when she failed to report to her unit’s leadership.

The court sentenced Kabaloyeva to six years in prison but deferred the sentence until 2032 due to her young child.

Wow, imagine having to live your life knowing that you'll have to spend 6 years in prison after about 8-9 years.

... and with minors at home.

Isn’t it safer for her to flee the country?

Obviously, but I imagine she is now rather limited in travelling abroad...

But if she does, from what I’ve experienced, she will be granted political asylum within EU easily, specially with the press coverage she had.

I hope she will succeed.

She has 10 years to walk to the border and casually hop on the other side. She would be granted asylum in no time

And if they get her, she will fly out of a window

gotta raise the older child a little more first, so they can be conscripted--and don't worry about the new child when you go off to prison, we'll "take care" of them, too.
