I was so ready for this season to be total ass since the show had jumped the shark straight into garbage tier television before being rebooted TWICE but Resurrection has been fucking awesome. The callbacks to the early seasons have been great.

I've never watched Dexter. What would you recommend I watch if I want to start? Just resurrection? Early seasons first (till before it became garbage)? When did it become garbage?
Definitely watch the OG seasons first. 1-4 is peak TV then it kinda goes to shit. You can skip to the season 8 finale to get an idea of how bad things got and how the original series ended.
New Blood was a great reboot and leads directly into Resurrection.
Currently going through the entire series again, my suggestion? OG, original sin, new blood, resurrection. Everyone on of the newer shows have references throughout them. Starting with OG first (even tho original sin is a prequel) would fill in all those gaps you would have otherwise.
