It was interesting to see a completely empty Reddit feed.

But /r/thinkpad didn't close... I don't want to leave that sub :'(

Ah one of my favs too. I haven't been back on reddit since the spez AMA and didn't actually realize that r/thinkpad never went dark. Kinda disappointing tbh.

A solid gesture but I don't think it's necessary to delete or unsub from reddit. Reddit doesn't need to die, and it won't, but I don't intend to use it like have in the past. I think a lot of people were looking for an excuse to leave, but it was always difficult going to different places because they were so dead. Not anymore.

I like Lemmy, though I'm not sure which servers I want to spend time on, or maybe I want to host my own. SDF? World? beehaw.org? I'm still checking in on reddit daily, but I'm spending more time on lemmy and it's kind of fun here in a nice, non-reddit kind of way.

Still eagerly waiting to get into Tildes.

I did that too, prior to deleting my account. it's important to send that message to the mods directly.

I love it here so far, and I'm not worried at all that I will regret dumping reddit.

I deleted my reddit account yesterday and it promised, "are you sure it will be permanent!" but today it's still there. Maybe I can use more destructive methods...

Just permanently deleted my account from 2008. Seemed to work.

I can't quite bring myself to delete my account yet. Maybe I'm a fool but I hold the hope that the reduced userbase/interesting posts will produce a change in direction. Most likely not though so I've given myself the deadline of June 30th. I've invested a lot in that site...

Same here, I can't bring myself to delete it. We'll see.
