Not sure if it's my browser settings or something, but it's not working for me. Nothing anywhere.

US only and you may need to search for your location rather than just seeking it out on the map. It doesn't update the map on the fly.

It works on my phone but not on my PC, I don't know why.

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

Huh weird. If you know enough to troubleshoot you can check the browser console, ctrl-shift + (j or k) depending on firefox or chrome. But if it works on your phone that's probably good enough.

What Joe said.

Also, great username.

I haven't called Costco yet to see what their pricing is (the website doesn't list it because of all the recommendatiom kerfuffle) but CVS has raised their out of pocket prices, it looks like.

It was 202 last year. doomer

I'm 100% positive you can find it cheaper than that. Definitely check Costco or Sams club (not sure if Sam's carries it). Maybe your local department of health has a program for free vaccinations? Something is definitely better than nothing in this case.

Yeah, I'll be going to Costco. But if CVS is raising their prices, I'm sure everyone else will as well. We'll see how much the costco member discount drops it this time. I'm in Florida so the HEalth department is useless.

I'm in FL as well. The health departments are generally, at least in the larger cities, very good about vaccines. They can give you your entire record and tell you what you need to be updated on. I also think they do it for free still but don't quote me on that one. Highly recommended to check up on your vaccinations. I'm sure some mutant whooping cough or polio will be coming our way before you know it.

Damn I just got the Pfizer one

[–] bigpharmasutra@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

Hey at least you got protected. There's some evidencing showing a mixed vaccination strategy is also very successful. Something to keep in mind.

Is this better than the MRNA vaccines? How do you get it if you're under 65?

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's debatable as to whether or not it's better, but pretty much everyone agrees novavax has less side effects. Everyone is pretty much eligible, if they ask just tell them you're high risk. Even being a former smoker qualifies you, and you can always lie about that, though they shouldn't be asking specific reasons. Whether or not you need an RX is dependent on where live tho.

[–] bigpharmasutra@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

No its no longer debatable its been proven scientifically.

Thanks for this, I just found a place near me and got it.

I've gotten moderna since the beginning and it's always knocked me on my ass for a couple days. Hopefully novavax has less kick to it.

Got my Nuvaxovid shot about 20 hours ago.

The only reaction is slight tenderness at the injection site. That's a bit more than the reaction I had to last year's Novavax shot, where the tenderness was barely perceptible.

No fever, no malaise, no nausea, no fatigue, two years running. Meanwhile the Pfizer shot gave me the worst vaccine reaction of my adult life.

I'll be sticking with Novavax's annual COVID shots in the future.

Excellent news. Happy to hear it hasn't fucked you up.
