Sorry about the down time, Lemmy.nz was just down for 30 mins.

I wish I had more info but I'm not sure what the issue was!

It seems our instance started getting hit hard about 5am, then we were at 100% CPU for the last 30 mins:

The number of hits has shot up too: screen shot of cloudflare dashboard showing around that same time of 5am the number of requests skyrocketed from 2000 an hour to over 100,000 per hour

In case you're thinking well of course an NZ site has many more hits in daylight hours, here's the week: screen shot of cloudflare dashboard showing a daily 20,000 hits going to 600,000 today

I'm guessing AI scrapers?
