Boost for lemmy is coming!

Yep, can't believe it I thought they said they weren't going to make it but here we are. I really hope it does well as none of the Android apps have quite done it exactly how I liked Boost so will be great to have the same UI I've used for years

Yes just found it on play store!

Already registered for download. Sorry Liftoff, but Boost was the Goat for Reddit back in the day.

Jerboa just changed its display name so it shows "for lemmy" in the play store but not when it's installed.

Something to consider.

God forbid! These long and unnecessarily clunky can stay away from me.

[-] pfannkuchen_gesicht@lemmy.one 3 points 1 year ago

I agree. It's currently impossible to find directly through the app store. I found it through a post on lemmy.world and am glad I found it. Jerboa is kinda buggy and hard to use right now.

2 weeks ago we had Jerboa, now I can't count em anymore. Enourmous growth and development on Lemmy. However, I recommend wefwef.app for thy lazy types

Edit: not to be disrespectful, I also donated to Zach for Liftoff. Development goes on like crazy here.

Wefwef is really good thanks for the recommendation :)

My only issue has been constant "failed to load post" messages. Really sucks the fun out of it.

Yeah, I just read the post about the rate limiting. I'm still getting used to all of this so didn't think to check for a community specifically for it.

If you can, selfhost. Wefwef is a lightweight.

Description will suffice tbh

Does the Play Store not support tags or keywords for search?! I would hope the author could just tag the app "lemmy" and it would show up if searching for "lemmy". Shouldn't have to put everything in the name of the app. FFS, Google... maybe worse than Reddit's search. (And if abuse of tags is a problem, punish the people abusing it.)

Comment spam sorry but you asked

[-] zachatrocity@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah we added this in the upcoming release. Should be tonight

[-] 640kb@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Agreed. The only reason I found Liftoff was because of this post (List of lemmy apps): https://lemmy.ml/post/1466515

It still doesn't show up for me on when I'm on Google Play.

I am seeing a couple apps for lemme but nothing for kbin yet. Does anyone know if one is in the works?

[-] Mr_Jabroni@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

The kbin API is still not ready so apps can't be done for it yet, but since demand has grown so much it is in the works
