This one one of the things that made REI really worth going for! I feel like they are turning into every other big corporatsion pushing the newest and best things telling us we need new stuff! Not the way it should be.
Hiking
I'm devastated, this is some bullshit. These guys just don't want people to buy used gear anymore probably. I can't see any inventory online before I come in.
devastated? really?
they still sell used stuff… it’s the only major retailer to do so….
it’s an employee owned company, it’s not an evil greedy corporation… probably just too much hassle trying to take pictures and put accurate descriptions and answering questions about used things, keeping it updated….
they just want you to look at it in person.
….
if this is devastating to you i think you should reevaluate your priorities in life.
I used to think REI was great as well, but found out they're heavily anti-union. I've since stopped shopping there.
see now that’s devastating… not that i really trusted them but, that sucks….
i always figured there must be something dirty for them to be that big
They used to post all used items online. Why would they take it down if not for encouraging users to buy new? It adds another hurdle
i just said why… why would you ask what i think is why, in response to me saying just that?
i think it’s more about the logistics of doing that.
Stop being toxic.
you’re being toxic by saying that
If you want: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance
omg, not everyone that disagrees with you is a fascist… ffs
this is a post about a hiking supply company… i’m not seeking to exterminate you and your relatives.
Wow that's some strawman. Ciao.
PS Think about your first message (actually all) and why it's toxic. Somehow I think you're trying to ignore it.
you linked the paradox of tolerance….
if i’m way off then what could your point possibly be?
you’re toxic and completely full of shit
