Technology, healthcare, sales usually gains more respect than janitorial and custodian work, architects, engineers, project managers more respect than roofers, framers, tile workers.
Both are exhausting, one more physically, the other more mentally, but both require a lot of energy.
I'm going to tell you though, if you've never watched a brick mason's laborer tossing three or four bricks at a time to a mason on a scaffold with grace, in 37-40° heat with 90% humidity for 10-12 hours, six days a week, that's plenty to respect, idc how much they spend on whatever to be able to do it. The same for the stop sign flipper in varying temps for the asphalt layers. Or the tile worker running a water saw in 0°.
Nuff said.
Its more about the appearance of being anti-racist and "better" than the republicans. They think the current system which somehow results in immigrants being reduced to cheap labor is "just the way the world works"
I mean it is how the world works but only because rather than hire a cleaner for the first level or three rooms of the home, they haggle to have the whole home cleaned for the same price. 🤷
They also dont respect cleaners because they think they could do it "just as good" as them.
Then let them go do that. 🤷
In my experience, none.
as a non-gringo, i'd say that there's an assorted mix:
democrats who hate trump and their domestic policies like cutting SNAP, the pedophile question, or buying argentinian beef, but are "bipartisan" in the usual stuff (low wages, russia hatin', anticommunism)
people that wants decent treatment for the migrants and stopping the evils of usa
disenchanted republicans laughed by their stupid red hats and the reality of losing healthcare and food stamps because they didn't understand what "obamacare" was or they ignored that they were using SNAP too
