I thought that the Firefox container tabs functionality (which is amazing) was a computer browser feature only and not available on mobile.

much thanks to @gary_host_laptop for the logo design :)
This has been my experience so far. When I posted this question, I was hoping there was an alternative or equivalent feature for mobile that I just didn't know about.
(Moved my comment to top level)
it's not a solution but i've used ffupdater to install firefox nightly and fennec to sign in with personal and work sync accounts and then use linksheet as an "open in profile" type of functionality.
If you only need two, then a "light" work profile with something like Shelter might work.
I have just set my mobile Firefox to private browsing only.
Works for me because I rarely need to log in to websites on my phone (most have apps, anyway, e.g. Lemmy).
Or just use Firefox Focus
Or just use Firefox Focus

Strange, have you tried fdroid?
I think they probably all do. But by default they go right to a default profile without prompting you to choose. There is usually a way to create a new profile if your look in the menus.
Can you please share a specific example? I poked around in the settings for Fennec browser and could not find anything about switching profiles.
Sorry, my bad. Desktop Firefox and spinoffs has this but not Android.
