Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani denied abandoning his beloved Democratic Socialists of America comrades Thursday, amid fury from the far-left group over his endorsements in congressional races.

Mamdani defended his allegiance to the NYC-DSA when pressed over criticism from members about him backing City Comptroller Brad Lander over the group’s pick: Council Member Alexa Avilés, in the Democratic primary for the NY-10 race.

Many DSA members saw red, launching a social media firestorm Wednesday over Mamdani’s endorsement of Lander, who announced a primary challenge to incumbent Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman for the Manhattan House seat.

“I’m so beyond disappointed in zohran for backing lander and sidestepping the organization that got him elected,” wrote David-Desyrée, who sits on the NYC-DSA Citywide Leadership Committee.

This article is just trying to stir up the left and start a conflict. Perfectly fine for him to endorse Lander after their cross endorsements and with how Lander defended Brad from Zionist attacks. Zohran owed him one especially after not choosing him as deputy mayor.

I know that I've wasted my time analyzing this 300 word propaganda piece, but like...its just false. Their citation for 'fury from the far-left group' is a single twitter post from a random person. The twitter post quote from David-Desyrée is just run-of-the-mill leftist infighting that had a comment section wherein people disagreed with him (some agreed, but hey thats what a discussion is). This is hardly fury. This is propaganda. dude aint even mayor yet. geneva_convenience - stop posting NYpost trash!

It's false that Zohran refused to endorse the person endorsed by NYC DSA and instead endorsed a generic Democrat?

Are you sure you did any research before typing your comment?

Yes. it is false. the NYDSA never officially endorsed either of those candidates for those races.
