During World Expo 88 in Brisbane, Australia, the city council took out full-page newspaper adverts that implored residents not to fill their rubbish bins with mangoes. Why?

I thought for so long he was part trolling them and referring to the Milton mango, as just an insane amount of beer had been drunk

I would have bet everything on popularity on mango beer somehow. But alas. Expo 88 is a bit too long ago for me, I would have been a toddler at the time.
