Could build yourself a dovecot and have fresh meat all year round it seems. Unless your neighbours burn your house down for building a dovecot.
They look boney and loads more work/less meat than chicken. I wouldn't be against st trying it, but I can't see them becoming a mainstay.
Interesting that they mention a decrease in sparrow numbers because that is something I've noticed too. Go back 20 years to my childhood and sparrows seemed to be all over the place, now they're a more occasional street bird.
