Keep in mind that elementary is doesn't provide an in place upgrade path between major versions, I didn't realize this when I set it up for my parents so they've been stuck on one major version since I can't backup, fresh install, and restore remotely.

8 is rolling though, so all these changes are included if you’ve got it installed

Rolling updates would be soooo nice

Sadly too many Linux distributions do that. Linux Mint didn’t for the longest time.

That is such an utterly awful user experience I am shocked it still exists currently.

It's kinda to be expected for the thing only enthusiasts claim is super easy to use, but still.

I upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1 without issue. I think it's only major versions that didn't support upgrades.
