Welcome!

Can you imagine, years ago how the internet was before? We know Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Youtube. We knew blogger, Tumblr, Skyrock... and long before, it was the forum era as phpBB..and mail-lists.

And now with ActivityPub, we are reshaping the web, and achieving much more with lots of freedom. So thank you all, and welcome ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿ˜

The fediverse is big ! Let's share our small gold nugget found in the fediverse. :)

It could be :

  • A new peertube channel
  • An interesting mastodon account to follow
  • Your new community ! Yes ! Why not ?
  • An cool gallery of picture from pixelfed
  • A playlist from funkwhale
  • A text that moved you

Let's dig together ! ๐Ÿ˜

Also two bots I quite like:
@birb@rss-parrot.net
@bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy

And though creating trackers with the former and having your account bridged to Bluesky with the latter both only seem to work from Mastodon, profiles created by either can be followed from anywhere microblogging-capable on the fediverse. =D

Can you explain to me what piefed is/is supposed to be? Is it just a lemmy-clone of some sort?

It's another reddit-style software that reads Lemmy communities.

Click here to see it.

With the Lemmy v1.0 the gap between lemmy and piefed was closed. What made piefed better than lemmy was its multicommunity and flairs and lot things as hashtag, poll, event... multicommunities and flair were requested on Lemmy since 2020 but were delayed. I think, thank to piefed it made Lemmy devs that some change was needed.

However, piefed has still some feature that make it different from Lemmy. And being written in python make it easier to contribute because the learning curve isn't steep. :)
