If I pick up my phone, I'm up. The question is how long I lay there before I do that or fall back asleep.

Uggg one hour is on the edge. I generally try to get back to sleep …. But if that doesn’t happen in fifteen minutes I get up.

I work flextime (start between 8 to 10 am) full remote. It really depends on how well I slept and how I feel. Sometimes I even start before 8, so yes, I stand up earlier in this case.

As long as my work is done nobody cares.

Edit: just realized the community I responded to. This is an European answer, sorry.

I have similar Flex time but I generally try to start at 8 because I prefer to have the extra free time in the evenings.

My inner dialog often starts like this: "Imagine having free time at 4:30pm. Wouldn't that be nic..."

While my inner demon often intervenes: "Shhhhhhhhhhhhh, roll over"

I used to try to go back to sleep but I always seem to be in a REM cycle when my alarm goes off so I end up waking up even more tired, so lately I've just been getting up and finding something to do.

Lol wtf is going back to sleep? I take the sleep I can get and stifle the need to lash out at people.
