I finally started wearing my new prosthetic hand. it has all kinds of new features. first of the leaf chain winder. this winder is almost 3/16" thinner. it nearly lines up with the tops of the metacarple bases. next is the printed socket. I'm using the prusa xl to print a dual material socket. This allows me to vary the firmness of the socket and adjust the feel. also, with this design it pops into the device and locks into place with 4 half spheres and a stop on the bottom of the winder.

I love Ian Davis' project.. The man had a problem and a machine shop, and he solved his problem. And now he's trying to improve the lives of people who have the same problem.

This is pretty metal. I mean I have seen things with making prosthetics but never where the person with the disability designed and made their own. So cool.

Reminds me of the robot hand from Army of Darkness.
