"RT? ThaTS PrOpAgaNdA! Not like the NYT or BBC, truly unyielding credible sources!" - average comment from lib instances that encounters a non-western source LMBO!

Lmao

"It's got nothing to do with the post but I'm going to mention lemmy.ml for some reason"

Several times I've seen someone whining about lemmy.ml and tankies, then I've checked their comment history. Every 4th or 5th comment has been about lemmy.ml and tankies, going back weeks. Completely obsessed.

Honestly I wish I had this much free time 😔

Hello. Care to discuss about your comment?

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

you will eventually get the "hey you are from lemmy.ml therefore you are very bad" at the slightest hint of not being a chud.

Yeah, I just skipped the lmao part and thought they were serious. My account is like 5yo or something, I absolutely get that all the time.

What would you like to discuss?

[–] selokichtli@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

About the taboo reasons or reason to mention lemmy.ml in this post.

[–] Arcanepotato@crazypeople.online 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

My comment is meant as a potential add on to the meme, clowning on people who are (negatively) obsessed with lemmy.ml and bring it up even though the op did not. There are a few such examples in the comments here, for example.

It was weird, because the comment ended up doing the same. I thought it was sincere and thought "ah, here we go again".

[–] Arcanepotato@crazypeople.online 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The op didn't mention it tho?

[–] selokichtli@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Ah, forget it. Didn't see the LMAO. Sorry.

The funny-sad thing about it is that they don't acknowledge the existence of people with legitimate grievances against the West.
