I'm pretty much set on running my PC on Linux Mint, but before I make the full plunge I want to test it out by launching it from a USB drive. I was wondering how much discs I would need on the said USB stick so that I can boot into LM environment and test it out.

Setting up the USB to boot mint will wipe the usb, just as an fyi. But as far as space is concerned I think it is under 4gb. I know an 8gb will work for sure.

Thanks, I was planning on buying a new usb for Mint, so getting wiped won't be an issue

The iso is 2.9gb and I don't think it gets bigger when you burn to USB. I think you'll be good. Welcome to the Linux crew. Mint is a great starting point
