Yes, Gorilla Games is a Dutch company

When I graduated university, they gave me, and others, graduate email addresses with the domain @institution.edu. The catch is, it's entirely based within Gmail, despite having a unique domain. I want to keep using this address, as it's tied heavily to my professional career, but I'm not sure how to decouple it from gmail ecosystem. Would using a client such as emClient be sufficient in breaking Google's monopoly?

Thanks, I was planning on buying a new usb for Mint, so getting wiped won't be an issue

I'm pretty much set on running my PC on Linux Mint, but before I make the full plunge I want to test it out by launching it from a USB drive. I was wondering how much discs I would need on the said USB stick so that I can boot into LM environment and test it out.

I can only talk from my wife's experience, so take it with a pinch of salt (a sample size of 1 isn't the most reliable.)

My wife was born in Yugoslavia in the 80's. She lived in her village until she went to university.

You may have heard about the little disagreement in the Balkans that occurred during the 90's which resulted in the split of Yugoslavia.

After that my wife was living in Bosnia, specifically the Republika Srpska part. She is now classified as both Bosnian and Serbian (holds both passports and nationalities).

She has Bosnian nationality because of the country she was now born in, and Serbian nationality due to being an ethnic Serb living in Republika Srpska.

100s of billions of dollars to his name yet not one child to say "I love you dad". What a sad empty life

Wait, Proton sends user data to Google? Doesn't that run contrary to their privacy ethos? Do you have an article on that I can read?

First of all, thanks all for your tips on how to unravel my life from GMail. I've slowly started to migrate over to Proton mail (slightly controversial but I feel the full suite will be easier to sell my wife on, who loves her big tech corpos)

Now to the topic at hand, what are some good alternatives to Google maps for driving directions?

I'm going to be selling my car in the coming weeks as it's in its sunset years and will be getting a new one. One wisdom I have though is around my dashcam. Obviously I'll be taking it from my old car and putting it in my new one, but the thing is, it's stuck to the windscreen with the M3 adhesive tape that came with it. I've looked online and removing it should be as simple as heating the adhesive strip with a hairdryer, but I was wondering, can I reuse the adhesive strip, or will I need to get another one? For context, it's been stuck to my windscreen for around 6 months, so not sure what state the adhesive will be in.

So I'm getting round to preparing my PC for Windows 11, and I just have to activate TPM 2.0. I have found it in UEFI BIOS and went to activate it and this warning came up. Where can I find/set the firmware TPM key.

I'd rather know this before activating TPM, than get caught with my pants down at a later date.

I've had my GMail account for what must be almost 20 years now, and it's pretty ingrained in my life. My mortgage info comes via GMail, my bank statements come via GMail, my health insurance comes via GMail, etc.

Thinking about migrating honestly seems like an insurmountable task. I have no idea where to begin. How the hell do I go about untangling GMail services from my life.

I've potentially been looking to move to Proton for email, but any other suggestions (preferably European based) would be welcome.

I noticed my D: drive was marked as dirty and some folders were coming up as corrupted, so I recovered as much data as possible, and then scheduled a chkdsk /r /f on next restart, and I've been here since Thursday (it progressed a bit throughout Wednesday):

I now need to urgently access files on my C: drive, but don't know if I should interrupt this process with a forced power off.

Just watched it on Disney+ and everything about the movie screams Hulk, yet Captain America is the titular hero. Why?

Context: We're in a bit of a heat wave and my daughter loves to cool down by splashing in water. Today was no different.

Once she was done, I say to her "Let's get you out of that wet dress. I imagine it must be uncomfortable. I've never actually worn a wet dress before".

Before I can follow that up with "I've worn wet clothes before, and that's not the nicest", my wife jumps in and claims that me saying I've never worn a wet dress is sexist.

Is it?

I have a lot of Apps on my Android that are essential to me (authenticators, finance management apps, etc.). How can I verify if they will work on Graphene/are even able to be installed?
