Place for male identifying persons to share their stories without judgement and come together in support to bring each other up instead of tear each other down. "Alpha" males and other dumb ass made up shit will be dealt with. This is NOT a space to bring women down this a place to bring men UP.

Hello! Last week, I made a post ranting about feeling overwhelmed by the things going on in my life. I received some very good advice, and upon reflecting, I managed to shift my perspective.

Now I feel better and am in a more positive mindset. This got me thinking about the good things going on in my life. One thing that I am proud of is the fact that I started working out one and a half months ago and watching my diet as well. During this period of time, I managed to lose 4 kg, and I feel stronger physically than I have in a long time. I started tracking my calories, eating less junk food, cutting out sweets, and no longer drinking sodas. I still have a lot of work to do, but I now feel better and more motivated to continue.

So here’s my question: what are some things going on in your life that you are proud of?

I adopted an adorable young dog. He’s currently wearing me out while we adjust to each other which keeps me from doomscrolling or focusing on the USA’s descent into fascism.

I needed this.

You now have a friend for life, congratulations! Stay strong, fascism never lasts; it will get better.

Well, my nose is currently clear.

This is so underrated 🤣. I have a friend that could not breathe trough his nose his entire life. After he got surgery and was finally able to breathe through his nose, it changed his life, according to him.

  • I just climbed my first 5.13 rock climb.
  • I actually went to bed at midnight last night instead of staying up late.
  • There are lots of pretty girls around, and they keep smiling at me.
  • I simulclimbed to the top of a new formation yesterday with a friend. We had a great time, and it was fantastic to cover so much ground without stopping, feeling undistracted and confident and in the moment.
  • I'm finally getting regular with doing PT for my ankle, working on my deep core strength, and getting back into shape with zone 2 cardio.
  • Today I weighed less than 190, getting close to my goal weight of 185.
  • I've been getting more consistent with doing meditative sits focused on my emotions. My negative feelings of dispair, envy, shame, and self hatred are coming up less and less. Yesterday, I noticed spontaneous instances of happiness and gratitude.
  • I'm getting better at noticing how I am feeling during the day, so I can recognize when I am feeling negative emotions and work on accepting them, rather than ignoring or suppressing them.
  • I finally got around to practicing my spanish today - hopefully the start of a new habit.
  • I just took a shower and it feels good to be clean.
  • I'm about to join some friends for dinner, and look forward to eating good food in good company.

I’ve almost finished bringing a home project across the line that has taken me way too long and made my spouse upset. But it should be finished by next week!

Congratulations! It sounds like you put a lot of work into these projects. I hope you will take a break after, to recharge your batteries.
