Well ... its cool and all. And the people are nicer. And smarter. Mostly.
But you can read the entire feed in an hour. And we've got cross-postings and bots. And crusaders.
I guess that leaves more time for IRL in your day.

That makes perfect sense. I like to browse anon, till I hit something that makes me want to interact. That habit seems to subject me to a lot of the cross-posted stuff.
Spread the Word! Lemmy is developing very well at the moment, as is Mastodon. Simply great.
It's pretty great! I miss some of the smaller communities on Reddit, like I still go back there for /r/Intune while I am working, but it will be a cold day in hell if I ever install the reddit app on my phone.
There are some side affects of Lemmy though. I'm pretty close to installing Linux on my computers. Just haven't found the time.
Installing Linux as my main OS is the best and most productive tech improvement in my life. 10 years now, never missed Windows. Take the leap brother. You won't regret it. And AI is there to help you lose your fear of the terminal.
Oh the terminal doesn't scare me. I'm a Powershell junkie, so the terminal is warm and inviting. I just haven't had the time to do it. Im also a windows admin by career so I like to be tuned into Microsoft's bullshit to some extent, it's part of my job. One of these days I'll get around to it.

yep. i wanted a reddit clone and lemmy just wasnt doin it.. plus it interacts with microblogs natively (mastodon)
I browsed for a while, and I like it. I'm gonna sign up. eviltoast goes down every now and then. (I do believe its been me and large graphic files that was at fault on occasion.) It would be nice to have a second home.
