Im back with another textra issue. In my attempts to degoogle im really struggling with my Android at the moment (samsung 25). I am using textra and keep running into issues, so far they have been resolvable, including my last issue re the "cant get messages" error, thanks to some kind users.

The issue I'm currently battling is, I think, related to RCS chats. Some of the group chats just dont allow me to get the texts. I find out when people send me messages separate. I switched on google messages to see them flood in. I turned off RCS chat and am hoping that will work but it's hard to say when I cant see what im not getting. Anyone else solve this?

I really want to keep using textra and paid for premium for myself and just today for my kid. I would appreciate any thoughts!

Yeah this is firmly an RCS issue, turn it off, if it still doesn't work ask a friend to remove and re-add you too the chat.

Unfortunately Samsung phones are rough to degoogle, they don't have unlockable bootloader's and Samsung does a fair bit of spying themselves

Thanks for that. Im really frustrated to day this but i guess we have to go back to google messages and hope one day soon rcs can be used by other apps.

Do you know, are iPhones better for degoogling?

I used an iphone when I started, it's kind of a nice easy way to start but eventually I moved the grapheneOS because ideologically I don't want any proprietary software

Consider Textra heavily tracks what you do.
