In the top right corner of the sidebar of your community you should see a trash can icon. Click on that. If you created the community you can delete it. I did this two or three months ago. No admin powers required.

Why is this even a feature? Should a community’s creator have the authority to delete it just because they want to? This seems to be causing problems recently.

Because I started a community for Wheelchair users but the best way to build Lemmy right now is to consolidate around broader topics, i.e the existing general disability communities, until more niche communities become sustainable
