Serious purity testing here. What he actually says:

1. When questioned about 2 specific incidences of trans women competing in womens sports by Charlie Kirk (which were likely cherrypicked to highlight potential unfair advantages), he agreed that those 2 specific incidents sounded unfair.
2. Notes that Democrats need to accept some nuance on the issue of trans women in women's sports.
3. Believes that Dems need to refocus on kitchen table issues which resonate with average voters, rather than getting sucked into arguments about pronouns with Republicans that alienate average voters.

This all seems very reasonable and fine. I'd vote for him.

That's obviously the DNC and establishment Democrat strategy for the upcoming elections - to try to gain more support not by shifting back toward appealing to the left, but by going all in on appealing to the right.

Which will undoubtedly work out about as well as when Kmart tried to revive its flagging sales by upgrading its image, only to end up both failing to appeal to its desired new demographic and alienating its old one.

Although that also illustrates the long-term benefit - that decision opened the door for Walmart to move in and serve the people Kmart had abandoned.
