Am I alone in thinking this is exactly what I thought people wanted? Sure, there are issues with the regs that need to be sorted out, and I don't think any of us like seeing cars slow down at the end of the straight. But the fact that it's so much harder on the drivers is fantastic. These are F1 drivers, they're supposed to be the best of the best. I don't want to see them drive a very simple car to the limit, anyone can do that. I want to see them drive a computer to the limit while riding a unicycle and juggling flaming swords.

MODERATORS
It's electrical regen. You will see it all season on every track in practice. Practice is where the teams test set ups and try to set the regen as aggressively as possible whilst still remaining drivable. This will mean in testing you see cars spin as they push the limits of the regen.
Its not without reason. Its the interaction between the KERS and the SM and heavy braking that transfers all the load to the rear and spins the car.
The McLaren issue is unrelated, and is good old crosswinds.
Because the FIA fucked up, again, and the entire formula is about regen, so cars are downshifting on straights, and taking corners more slowly to grab energy. And once again, the cars are useless in dirty air so they get stuck without being able to pass.
Drivers warned them this would happen. But that's F1. It's a weekend festival now and the racing doesn't matter.
