They called me a transphobe, again, based on the previous shadow ban for asserting that "dude" is not a gendered term. And all they could back it up with are hypotheticals about an isolated comment I made years ago.

Poop that woman in jail!

And also, what a terrible UI! It looks like someone put a bunch of div tags in a jar and shook them around!

What do you mean by shadow banned? That just looks like a normal ban to me...

Okay so you are just yapping i see.

I'm tired of seeing all the perpetrator blaming here, too. Can we add that to the rules?

There's a reason why I don't associate with supposedly trans-positive communities, as someone with ongoing gender dysphoria.

For a group that absolutely loves to slap labels on others without their consent or even input (egg), they're just as swift to get uppity at anything that conflicts with the vastly extended bubble of self identity.

Better off without them, honestly.

[–] wesker 2 points 2 days ago

I think this is a recurring pitfall for communities that revolve around identity, rather than common interest.

Whoa I call everyone dude, in person and online, and I'm 100% an ally. I understand it used to mean man/male, but I thought that really changed over the last 25ish years.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

suppose someone asked not to be called dude?

If someone directly asked me to stop calling them that, I would. I'm not a monster.

[–] wesker 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

If you're referring to my comment and my ban, no one was called dude who asked to not be called dude. The comment was a top-level response to a non-blahaj thread, that IIRC was someone asking how others approach modern day social or professional situations, where the varying gender pronouns of a larger group may be unknown.

The intention of my comment was to encourage being sensitive and modern, but also suggesting that being getting lost in nuance is silly. Whether I communicated that sentiment clearly and sensitively is subjective.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 3 points 2 days ago

i wasn't but i'm mildly amused they banned you for that but don't ban chasers on the non-piefed blahaj.

rule 1 victim blaming, I think

[–] Are_Euclidding_Me@hexbear.net 10 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Dr Wesker is some sort of bizarre avante gard troll. I don't get the bit, seems sometimes like bigotry for bigotry's sake, but I just wanted to warn you that any interaction you have with Dr Wesker is likely to be strange and not good

[–] notwesker 2 points 3 days ago

rule 1, 2 and 5: victim blaming, assassination of character, reverse bigotry for claiming that just because someone is strange they aren't good

[–] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 5 points 3 days ago

I don't think the "i was merely trolling" defense nor trying to introduce bigotry to an online community by being ironic about it are particularly avant-garde but genuinely thanks for your concern I'll watch out

Good you deserved it for what you did to Leon

[–] qrstuv 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm so sorry that happened to you. You made it crystal clear that you didn't want to be called that, and they revictimized you and called you it anyway.

[–] wesker 6 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Thank you for your support. The UI is so terrible. It reminds me of the porn I've heard about where the felatio is done from behind, with the penis pulled through the legs, and so the balls are on top on the penis, but everyone knows the balls naturally should occur below the penis.

[–] RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You ever hear about kangaroos? Their balls are on top. It's weird.

[–] wesker 2 points 3 days ago

I didn't know this, but I guess everything really is upside down in Australia!

[–] qrstuv 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I was gonna say it reminded me of CDE or Trix yogurt.

[–] wesker 4 points 3 days ago

That's what I meant.

Please just block *.blahaj.zone

Their communities offer zero good content and it's all just complaining there

[–] lorty@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

How is it a shadow ban if you literally have the screenshot of the ban?

[–] wesker 1 points 3 days ago

It doesn't show in my home instance modlog, and I was able to respond to blahaj posts for almost a whole year without any indication that it wasn't federating, and no one was seeing my comments. The only reason I immediately knew about the double shadow ban was because this nasty woman was overjoyed to inform me. It was all pretty shady.

[–] pmjv 4 points 3 days ago

This is a pretty cool picture, ngl. it looks like an assassination contract.
