I just worry that UBI will just be an excuse to never fix income inequality.

UBI indirectly solves income inequality. If no one needs to work just to survive, it becomes very difficult to exploit workers (which is the only way to build obscene wealth).

If not that excuse, it'll be another

I worry about govt’s misusing it. I’m still a big UBI fan, but after seeing it employed in Captain Laserhawk, it made me aware of how it can be a cudgel of a corrupt govt as well.

Ideological-oversimplifications lead to sloppy laws:

serial-murderers are "contributing" how??

incorporated-sociopathy, & its pushers, are "contributing" how?

highjackers-of-gov't-for-ideological-supremacism are "contributing" to our country how?

I agree that supporting the people at the bottom is more important, but in the 7+years I've racked-up as a homeless person, there are one hell of alot of people who get a kick from harming others in this world, & I don't want them subsidized.

( I'm including abusive institutions, btw, not just street people )

The title is oversimplification.
