Yeah but this guy is seriously in here complaining the plot is princess kidnapping in a Mario IP. I am more upset they seem to have mashed Galaxy and Sunshine rather than give Sunshine its own movie.
I think his complaint is less the idea of Princess kidnapping and more how it's executed. Though I grant you that first paragraph was rough.

I have yet to see Sonic 3, but the first two were decent enough. I didn't hate Minecraft, but it was far from the best. I probably won't rewatch.
I mean, the first one barely scrapped by at being a decent movie. I wouldn't be surprised if this one falls a bit short of the first, especially given how many things they threw at this one (rosalina, more powerups, yoshi, bowser Jr, etc.)
People always assume they are the target market.
Its Nintendo, they arent known for making good stories and quite frankly never have been. On occasion they do but even then it tends to be in niche spin offs.
