If I understood well, AA centralize all the other pirate ebook providers, or is there anything different I can use to find ebooks?

If I didn't find a book on AA it very likely means the book isn't available anywhere?

I usually find my epubs via Soulseek. I'll be checking out Anna's Archive now, though.

Why are we assuming that everyone would know what “MAM” is or stands for?

MAM is probably the best place to find ebooks. they have a very comprehensive library.

[–] CommunistCuddlefish@hexbear.net 2 points 13 hours ago

AA has many books that are not on MAM and vice versa

I've been wanting to apply for an invite there for a while, but my ratio on my existing private tracker is dire since seemingly nobody fucking downloads anything. How harsh are the entry interviews?

[–] Grimm665@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Not harsh at all, and the way they do ratios is nice, you get credits for seeding stuff even if those titles aren't being actively leeched.

Neat, thanks!

Depending on where you live, you can borrow ebooks from regional libraries. In my case, those are veeeeeeery many and also they can mostly be stripped of DRM.

This! 🥳

Also, depending on your location, getting a library card doesn't require residence in its area. So, if your preferred library app shows a book/album/film, etc. isn't available digitally, check another major city's library catalog and sign up if they have it. Add that new login and boom. Bonus: each additional library membership makes that happen far less often. 🖖🏼

I thought Z-lib was still the go to

[–] PoliteDudeInTheMood@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 hour ago

Anna's archives Z-lib so everything on there is also on Anna's.

MAM is quite comprehensive in my experience.

Can you check for me if you can find the book 1984 in Brazilian Portuguese in .epub? My problem is that all the other sites provide only English books, except AA. Just for testing if is it worth it. I need to apply for invitation I just saw here.

[–] signalsayge@infosec.pub 7 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

They do. In epub and audiobook.

[–] JohnDarlen@lemmy.today 5 points 18 hours ago

OK thank you my friend, very thank you 🤝

I don't know anything, but I often find what I'm looking for on irc…

[–] cyberpunk007@lemmy.ca 4 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Where? It's been some time since I used IRC...

[–] docus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 13 hours ago

As a starter: read this Or use your favourite search engine and look for “ebooks on irc”
