Waydroid has been packaged and is now available in Unstable: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/waydroid

It should be available in Testing in a few days.

I always liked the potential of Waydroid... but in practice never used it.

If you actually use it, what do you use it for?

It would be cool if waydroid could be also DE. Especially on Linux mobile.

DE? In what sense? Why u would want this? It now integrates in existing Linux mobile where each android app looks like it different app launching

No so you can use waydroid as other DE like you can choose on login KDE and GNOME.

You can choose to run waydroid as your DE.

There is also android translation layer but I don't see any progress in it.
