The new names for the upcoming major ships:

Summit Arbutus

Summit Cedar

Summit Maple

Summit Spruce

This seems stupid? Why not name them after...summits?

Might as well. They seem to think our coasts are their business.

Yeah and if the ferries weren't so popular with albertans maybe they would be usable again. Kidding really, but still a ton of red plates on sailings (at least 10%). British Columbians subsidize the ferries and tourism makes them basically inaccessible for locals at times.

In fairness the locals make it inaccesible for locals at times too.

Ferries seemed to work pretty well before they were privatized.

Sure there were occasional delays, and busy periods. Have those gone away?

But I never once thought of booking a reservation outside a long weekend or holiday.

The corporation makes more money when every ferry is full. I suspect these ships will are only being added to the fleet because the data shows they will be completely full too. Probably bigger so they can squeeze more money out of their hostages while paying for fewer staff.
