On June 2nd, Vancouver City Council will vote on whether to adopt the new Vision Zero Safe Mobility Plan:

https://council.vancouver.ca/20260602/documents/r3.pdf

The plan commits Vancouver to reducing fatalities and serious injuries on roads by at least 5% every year. It outlines strategies and near-term actions to be completed in the next five years.

  • Bike lanes

  • Prioritizing locations with a significant serious injury history

  • More space for pedestrians

  • Safer vehicle regulations

The plan is really good, and it’s not a given that Council will pass it.

We really need your support.

I like the intent but a whole bunch of 30k zones seems pretty excessive.

It's normal for cities.

Ya there’s no way I’m supporting that. I support educating people and absolutely crackdowns on people using mobile devices when driving though. Could triple the fines and points for these. I’ve seen so much of that crap recently.
