Nothing-yahoo won't stop bombing Lebanon like the feral rabid animals the Zionists are.

Well, it’s Monday, so now we collapse the futures market outcomes and collect gains for the insiders.

On Friday they’ll have a deal again, the after hours markets will go up, they’ll capitalize, then on Monday we’ll be back to this.

it does seem to be about once a week.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 43 points 1 day ago (4 children)

That's exactly the goal. This regime is extracting as much wealth as possible before they're removed.

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Then they’ll flee to Argentina. Peter Thiel is all ready moving there as we speak.

I think you're overestimating this regime.

Trump's and His Pack of Bastards might be dumb as a bag of wet lint in general, but when they're working out ways to steal money, I begrudgingly content they're geniuses.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I think you're underestimating them. Sure it's one of the least competent administrations in the history of the country, but there are plenty of very evil and very competent people in the regime pulling the strings and setting the long term goals and strategies. Look at Bannon for example. He's very cunning and evil.

That's the part I specifically don't believe. Even the people like Bannon who have certain impressive skills, are ultimately short term thinkers that are liable to miscalculation due to arrogance. At the end of the day, they know not to speak out against any dumb move Trump wants to pull, as he has consistently purged such people and replaced them with insane yes-men.

Trump has never been puppeted, only manipulated and tricked by people appealing to his ego. He is uniquely adept at uniting fascist foot soldiers and oligarchic interests, but he has never been the billionaires' perfect option. They tried to replace him before both the 2016 and 2024 elections, specifically because he isn't their lapdog.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

We seem to have different definitions of puppetry then, based on your reply to the other person.

Also, the long term evil strategists are people like Kevin Roberts, Peter Thiel, Russ Vought (huge one for dismantling the federal government), Clarence Thomas, Mitch McConnell (more traditional but very long history). These are people who have worked for decades to get to this point.

He he is being puppeted, just not by oligarchs, but by putin and Israel, who have kompromat on him.

Appealing to his ego and earning his admiration isn't puppetry, but manipulation. Puppetry is when someone is forced to do another's bidding against their will. Trump simps for daddy Putin and brother Netanyahu voluntarily, not because they force him.

I’m surprised “peace” is even on the wheel.

[–] homura1650@lemmy.world 26 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago)

Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies.

just for few days, to sell the shares back to the market

[–] zurohki@aussie.zone 13 points 1 day ago

They'll announce peace, that doesn't mean anyone will actually stop shooting.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

The wheel is also fixed .... there's a giant lead weight on the opposite side of 'peace', which means it will never land there

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Jfc, what did dumbfuck do now?

[–] mirshafie@europe.pub 31 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

The USA has been bombing Iran regularly over the past week. Iran has retaliated by bombing a US base in Kuwait. Since it's obvious that the US thinks it can keep bombing on a slow-burn schedule, Iran is escalating.

Meanwhile, Israel has been bombing world heritage sites in Tyre and moving across the Litani river.

Also, from Iran's perspective, now isn't a bad time to finally block Bab el-Mandeb. The United States can't really withdraw that much more from their SPRs, so the effect will be maximized. Meanwhile Europe is growing more hawkish on Russia, so upping the ante is the right move.

Of course, this will cause incredible suffering in Asia with trickle-down effects hitting the poor of the world the hardest.

[–] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

And now Trump is trying to apply last minute pressure after fucking around and finding out. People underestimate just how little strategy is involved in the US approach.

[–] mirshafie@europe.pub 3 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Yeah, he's reeling. He wants to do a 1-2 day massive bombing campaign, declare victory, and then leave. The problem is Iran says they will make the Gulf uninhabitable if he does that, and the grown-ups know that Iran isn't bluffing.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 11 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Broke the ceasefire again and, more importantly, is refusing any deal which doesn't involve Iran losing all control of the strait and giving up its nuclear materials (neither of which are ever going to happen).
