Oh, I see the problem. He’s using facts, analysis, and mathematics to make up his mind, instead of jumping on the hype train.

Neither is Tesla. I'm curious what will happen to the Tesla stock price after the SpaceX IPO. The rubes who think Tesla is a good investment that I've spoken with usually drag SpaceX into the conversation as a reason to invest in Tesla.

My dad is all up elons ass and buys into his bullshit. Funny thing is, percentage wise, I'm significantly outperforming him by buying into direct competitors for elons scams(rklb, GSat, etc).

I keep telling him to bail on that trash while the price is good

Why the fuck would anyone want to invest in a company where the CEO is an illegal immigrant that steals over a trillion a year from the company?

Because he runs a grift by selling and hyping fantastical ideas to people with more money than common sense.

Anyone who works in any of the fields Elon claims to be an expert in knows he's full of shit and hasn't a clue about what he's talking about, but they are the minority.

For everyone else, the promises and his "history" are enough to sound like one-in-a-lifetime investment opportunities. Now consider the phenomenon of repetition influencing what people believe, then pair that with a vocal minority of layman investors whose egos can't let them accept failure so they spend their time trying convince everyone else that they made the right decision.

Ramble81 says neither SpaceX nor Anthropic is worth $1T

That was easy to asses.

SpaceX is defs worth that much or more. Off-world mining is going to change this planet in ways we cannot imagine yet and they are on track to provide the first vehicles. People like to shit on SpaceX because Musk, so if it makes you feel better he just invested money and took over the business like everything else he does he didn't invent anything.

You sure can't apply cost-accounting to those nebulous numbers. Whenever I hear billions or trillions I know someone is pocketing shitloads of it somewhere.

Welcome to the modern economy, where the values are made up and the consequences dont matter
