I encountered a different headline for this story earlier today and my first thought was that Australia was being tariffed because we are against slavery. Which seems more credible than the actual claim the US is making here.

The only reason it's an 'anti-slavery' tariff is because the supreme court shot down his completely arbitrary tariffs (probably because it's destroying their economy, they're on board with all the rest of his fuckery). He's trying an end run around them.
Gobsmackingly hypocritical given their prison system. Fuck 'em.

I doubt they're counting the forced labour in prisons in the US if that's the estimate... we know how rampant 'legal' slavery is in the US.
I was thinking the same thing. Also, Qatar is way too pale considering all the forced labour of migrants ahead of the last FIFA World Cup. There seems to be biases on what constitutes "slavery".
Trump is correct that Australia hasn't done enough against slavery.
Australia still does a large amount of trade with the country with the most slaves in the world - the US.
An embargo should be placed on all goods manufactured, in whole or in part, through the US prison systems slave labour.
To play devil's advocate here, and I agree with you, but China has the largest number of heavily exploited labor, some of which could be described as forced labor.
Trump, the great dictator over the country that has the most exploitative cheap labour setup (minimum wage, working for customer tips to make a living) in the world!
No moral high ground to be had here USA and your slavery supported economy!
Fix up your own backyard first, empty headed tariffs from and empty headed dictatorship about a cause you have NO right to preach about!
Australia also really hasn't done enough to stop fat orange paedos
It's crazy big ped is in power, and nothing is stopping it. It literally blows my mind every parent of the country has not rallied and dragged that guy onto the street.
Some weird mass disconnect.
Firstly, just a reminder that Trump had only ever had one friend, but he died in prison. No one ever asked him out for a bit of a yarn
Secondly we should introduce an anti dickhead tariff
And finally the upside to this is, let's wedge Pauline on this. Ask her to call Trump the dickhead that he truly is
And that idiot is expecting Aussies to want his stupid golf course (which, according to his logic, would also be built using slave labour)?
Is anyone surprised that Trump has tried to lump us with tariffs again... Seriously, why do we even keep bothering to have any useful agreements with the USA while that orange haired oompa-loompa is in power...
