I think I've come around to preferring Halloween in a way. It's not a big thing in Australia (though I feel it's growing) and a lot of people whinge about it being American. I don't really participate in Halloween but the core thing here is just people having fun. And I can get behind that.

I have to use 11 at work. In a way I'm thankful because I've been exposed to how shit it is and it makes me appreciate Linux more. I can't see them changing anytime soon as it seems like we're getting more dependent on their shit.

Japanese Taco Bell is nothing uniquely special. Though I only have Australian Taco Bell as a comparison.

I've kept my streak alive of finishing at least one video game a month (started Nov 23)

Waking up to heavy rain this morning. So nice. I am fully aware that if my plans for the day weren't primarily video games, I probably wouldn't be enjoying this so much.

Social sport is good. No pressure to be skilled, people can be really encouraging and the ones that aren't move on pretty quickly. You don't need to be good, you just need a good attitude.

I've got a family member interested in switching to Linux but the finance software is an obstacle. I had a look and landed on gnucash which I thought I would trial myself and then see if if would work for them. I like it!

Check out KanaDojo. Its a cool little web app that will help with hiragana and katakana.

In Australia we fill up first and then go in to pay.

I think you can prepay in some apps or at truck stops or whatever but its far from the norm and usually a choice.

I read this as demonoid cyst which might be a better name.

What do you think of the album?

Nice! I saw that these guys are opening for Babymetal next year. After listening to this I can see why.

What are you Ubuntu Touch users doing for music? Its one of my big hurdles to switching since I discovered Musicolet on Android.

This song is from Scottish band Biffy Clyro's 2007 album Puzzle. The album largely deals with the death of the lead singer's mother.

About the song (from an interview quoted on Wikipedia)

It's about not wanting to waste your life, but about having no idea where to turn and suddenly being aware of your own mortality.

He also added that it is "about hitting a low point and not giving a fuck. It was classic depression, I suppose."

From the 2016 album Atlas.

Atlas is the story of wonder, imagination, dreams, youth, innocence, love and heartbreak all captured under the golden light of a fading summer sun. The sound of a summer long gone. - from the Bandcamp page

I managed to convert someone to Signal this week. Was having reception difficulties with a phone call (both of us in spotty areas) and after a drop out, managed to get them on board with Signal. A very notable quality improvement in the call which helped reinforce to them it was a good idea.

I'm going to work on setting up Pihole over the weekend.

Note: I did steal this topic idea from Techlore.

In any format? I prefer to buy video games physically and have a respectable book, VHS and vinyl record collection. Though the majority of my music and video-based entertainment are digital.
