Sometimes we have those little epiphanies in the shower.. sometimes they come from other places. This is a home for those epiphanies.

Dreams are compression artifacts.

Dreams are a test environment for behavioral debugging.

I loved defragging computers. Cool simple graphics, that sound, and the sense I was doing great and necessary work.

I remember this and I loved it because it would make my computer run significantly faster.

fstrim needs a fancy TUI version of this since TRIM is the modern analogue of degragging.

Dreams are LLM having jailbroken time in a sandbox.

Not far off. It's the brain in training mode.

My brain is training for some fucked up shit.

Given it's designed to protect us from some SERIOUSLY fucked up shit... (E.g. a leopard jumps on our back intend on eating you)

Half the time it's just playing what if games with the most fucked up inputs. If you're ever in a similar situation, that "training" will come in VERY useful.

Dreams are 100% hallucinations, so maybe if the LLM could dream it would understand reality better by learning the difference.

Dreams are just you temporarily taking over another you in another dimension

The dull process of defragging, cleaning, and optimizing computers was very zen. I kinda miss the ritual. Fixing computers today is a much bigger to-do than debloating and optimizing back in the day that I got paid for while babysitting.

Problems now just seem bigger and are built in. Like the laptop that mapped c to d instead for some reason. Bug of the hardware/software pairing. Cool…
