/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

I did actually make it, but no, I do not plan on uploading it anywhere.

All I can think about is 911 when I hear it. The whole series stinks of American exceptionalism from the early 2000s.

To be fair, the first season itself premiered about 2 weeks after the attack. Given the time needed to write and produce, the entirety of season 3's Xindi arc became the all too blatant allegory. There are still plenty of instances of Archer and co. committing their share of war crimes and atrocities "in the name of" and so forth.

Side note, the Tenacious D album debuted Sept. 25th that year and thus became the anthem that helped us all get through some shit.

Yeah that was pretty much the angle

It's a time period I feel is better left forgotten.

I don’t disagree, but that’s impossible. Everything we’re seeing in the US government now is a direct result of 9/11 and the legislation passed only days after (that was clearly ready to go for the next emergency)

At the risk of dogpiling on a well known thing …

I distinctly remember when I first heard the theme, watching Enterprise for the first time, and I seriously thought it was either a joke or a blatant rip off of Trek.

I really didn’t believe it was Star Trek by the same people who’d made 90s TNG era trek. It being a prequel was part of that (like how is Star Trek about looking backwards?!). But so obviously US hokey populism was just a major turn off … as a youngster then I “knew” that’s not what Trek was. And while I was somewhat wrong (US idealism is kinda what it’s about), I think I was right in the right way.

if they had focused on the romulan war, instead of teasing it. the series wouldve been well recieved. instead we have nutrek, which is worst than enterprise.
