I just had an idea for a #CallOfCthulhu / #DeltaGreen scenario:

In a desperate gambit to gain a positive Return on Investment before their IPO, a multi-billion AI company turns to a Mythos source to power their latest AI model. Hilarity ensues.

So what precisely did they attempt, and how does it go horribly wrong? What are your thoughts?

Deep, in the depths below R'lyeh, moss covered cobblestone walls give way to vast open expanses of low ceiling rooms with short foundations walls a bit over a meter high. Inside the foundational maze sit hundreds of thousands of deep ones, each in front of an ethereal terminal. Any requests of the Anthropic system are directly routed to this sub basement, where an unsleeping crew recount the barest dreams of Cthulhu in response to any query. These queries are then fed back to more sensible models for shaping and correction and fed back to the end users. Slowly, carefully, the dreams feed reality and degrade the sanity of the users in a bid to prepare the return. When the AI bubble pops, Cthulhu shall wake and rise once more to give them something to turn their camera phones to.

Ohhh... is that why Anthropic named their bug hunter "Mythos"? ๐Ÿค”๏ธ

The situation in the AI industry being what it is, I would not rule it out!

I mean, Palantir literally must have thought "Gee, let's name our company after the magic items Sauron uses to spy on everyone!"
