Really jumping to conclusions there, lmao. Dogs have been human hunting partners for thousands of years. Do you know what they are trained to do? Find the thing and bring it to a human. Of course they're going to find the thing and bring it to a human. To extrapolate that cats won't help you because they are uninterested in finding the thing unless there's something in it for them? huge leap of logic.

Cats will bring you their kills, probably because they think you're too dumb to hunt on your own. They will cuddle you when you're sick. I think this is a case of "not recognizing the kind of help cats offer to people".
Plus, you are uplifted by their presence alone.
Don’t need material ‘presents’.
For real, this is garbage science
That looks more like a test for social motivation. Dogs and toddlers want to be involved in activities with humans, in doing things together. Cats, OTOH, don't really care about what a human is doing by itself. They don't have an interest in being part of the activity.
i mean besides being present with their favorite humans. they dont know what we're doing but they're here for it. my cats literally follow me into every room, all hours of the day, unless they are actively eating, expelling waste, or chasing each other around in a zoomy fit. they know they're not getting anything but my presence and thats all they want because they love me.
You haven't met my cats.
My attention span is failing me. What's this about a sponge? And pretending not to see it?
This is the weirdest thing I've read all day, lol
