Why are there just zero mentions of the actual temperature she was exposed to? It wouldve been close to 40°C most likely.

Yeah she was around Paris so something between 40 and 43, plus the heat from the road which is easily 55 to 60 (according to airports tarmac temperatures).

And the heat wave is supposed to move east as she was, so I get it, there’s no point in following a fucking heatwave on a bike.

That's a shame, although I'm sure it's the right choice. Lael's first record-breaking round-the-world ride was a lot of fun to listen to in her daily reports.

Heat waves are some of the most deadly natural disasters, particularly for older people or people with health conditions that don't have access to air conditioning. I assume we will eventually find out the death toll for this heat wave, and I'm afraid it will be pretty terrible.
